STOP... and read carefully. There are two types of membership, In-Person and Virtual. Teams on an In-Person Membership may perform in an In-person Tournaments, Virtual Teams can only perform in virtual (online) Tournaments.
In-person memberships are purchased by a school and/or non-profit organization and more than one team can share an In-person membership, while the Virtual membership is purchased by one team. There are various levels of In-person Memberships starting at $135, the Virtual costs $125. Pricing will increase in the next season (the 2021-2022 season).
If you are interested in an In-person Membership you need to find out if there are already established teams in your school district, there is likely a coordinator who will purchase the National Registration. A number of non-School organizations also sponsor teams, so please send us an email at SFBAYrd1@norcalodyssey.org and we will put you in touch with the coordinator and they can help you find a team.
If you believe you would be the first team for Odyssey at your school, we recommend conducting outreach to parents and students to gauge the interest level before you begin purchasing memberships.
There are several levels of membership and the button at the right OVERVIEW OF MEMBERSHIPS, outlines what may be required.

In the 2020-2021 season, we plan to hold an In-person tournament. We are working with the local school districts, and state & county health departments to allow us to hold an In-person tournament that as closely resembles the Traditional Odyssey of the Mind Tournament as possible, given the current public health conditions available at the time.
Virtual (Online) membership is required if your team does not desire to attend an in-person tournament.
Each team is required to provide a judge. This year, there will be video/modules for the judges and online training on 2 days – a couple of hours for each.
Judges must be technology savvy (or not afraid of technology) and that they have their own computer or laptop (no Chromebooks please)!
The Northern California Association (State) has provided a number of new online training resources.
Both the regional and association level tournaments in Northern California are virtual (online). The following link can help teams prepare for the virtual tournament. Virtual Journey Tools
The Association Problem Captians has provided problem-specific videos: PC Videos
